How can we gain a better understanding of transformation processes towards sustainable development? How can we shape and design these processes?
These questions occupy the Wuppertal Institute aswell as scientists in all departments of the University of Wuppertal. Together they founded the interdisciplinary Centre for Transformation Research and Sustainability (TransZent) in October 2013. The centre focusses on sustainable transformation processes in urban areas. These processes are studied in so-called „Reallaboren„, meaning in interaction and cooperation between science and practice partners. Transition processes in Wuppertal and its surroundings are the central working areas of the centre.
This blog gives an insight into transformation research in Wuppertal focussing on the transition processes in the city and region.
